Since 2004, October has been designated as Cyber Awareness Month.  Now more than ever, it is critical for businesses and individuals to protect their information. Take the time this month to implement the following:

  • Password Management – Change your password now.  Schedule monthly or quarterly a password change.
  • Update your software – older versions of your software do not have the latest safeguards for your system. Upgrade now.
  • Multi-Factor-Authentication – for high-risk applications such as financial software, legal, or non-cloud apps it is essential that you add this second form of authentication that verifies a user’s identity before granting them access.
  • Training – conduct employee exercises to test their knowledge regarding phishing, reporting a potential breach and more.

Lastly, purchase a cyber liability policy to protects you should a breach occur.
